The mobile breast screening unit is coming to Shefford Health Centre (in the car park) from Spring through to Summer 2026 – we are expecting the unit to arrive on 10th April and will be screening ladies from Larksfield, Shefford and Stondon Surgeries (in this order). The unit is run by Beds and Herts Breast Screening Service and comes to our area every 3 years.
Registered eligible patients will be sent an appointment by post directly from the screening service, they automatically get their first invitation for breast screening between the age of 50 – 53, and then every 3 years until the age of 71.
After the age of 71 they will not automatically be invited, but may continue by self-referring to the breast screening service, by calling 01582 497 599 or email [email protected]
Screening at the mobile unit is by appointment only and is NOT a drop-in service.
